The Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) previously offered a range of programs designed to cultivate and empower the next generation of aquaculture professionals.
Unfortunately, these programmes are no longer available at SAIC. However, we have curated an archive to showcase SAIC’s commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation within the aquaculture sector. Please take a look.
Programmes offered (no longer available):
- Master of Science (MSc) Scholarships: SAIC provided financial support for students pursuing MSc degrees in fields relevant to aquaculture. These scholarships aimed to address the growing need for highly qualified individuals to tackle the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.
- Summer Internship Programme: This programme offered undergraduate students valuable hands-on experience in the aquaculture sector. Interns gained exposure to diverse aspects of aquaculture operations, fostering a deeper understanding of the industry and its career paths.
- Leadership Development Programme: Designed for rising stars within the industry, this programme equipped participants with a robust management and leadership framework. Through workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities, SAIC helped individuals refine their leadership skills and prepare them for future industry roles.
- Innovation Programme: This intensive programme brought together individuals from industry and academia to collaboratively address key challenges facing modern aquaculture. Participants tackled these challenges through a problem-solving approach, fostering innovation and cross-sectoral collaboration.
- PhD Scholarships: SAIC supported PhD research in various areas critical to the advancement of aquaculture. Scholarship recipients explored diverse topics ranging from shellfish farming and sea lice mitigation to hydrodynamic modelling, salmon immunology, and disease monitoring. Their research efforts contributed significantly to the knowledge base and sustainable development of the industry.
